Build a cover letter that stands out. While only half the recruiters/hiring managers will read them, it’s important to have it. Trying to resonate with the hiring manager shouldn’t be scary. Your goal is to show your brand advocacy. Quickly demonstrate the “why” you’re a good fit for their organization by personally customizing the cover letter so your story builds an emotional connection with the reader. Show them your connection with their brand and why you love it. How have you personally experienced their brand and what was the effect? Get the reader to stop skimming over details, as they may do due to time constraints, and to actually focus and read your resume beyond the 6 seconds.
