ALAN TURING, a British computer scientist and cryptanalyst, approaches the REGISTRAR, who’s smoking a cigarette, holding a binder of papers titled, “On Computable Numbers.”
TURING – “I wish to publish this into the society’s records.”
Turing hands the binder to the Registrar.
REGISTRAR – “Seems heavy.”
TURING – “It’s my theoretical basis for what will become the modern computer.”
REGISTRAR (busy shuffling papers) – “Sounds neat, sign here.”
TURING (as he signs) – “You see, decision problems are undecidable using a theoretical machine. By coming up with my universal Turing machine, I am foreshadowing an actual digital computer.”
REGISTRAR (grabbing the signed document from Turing) – “Yup. Thank you.”
Little did the Registrar know that she was holding the information that will impact everyone’s future in her hands.
🤖 Turing is considered to be the father of artificial intelligence and of computer science. 🖥️
🏅Today the Turing Award, the ‘Nobel prize of computing’ greatest honor is named in his honor.🏅
🎞️ Also, they made a fantastic movie on the guy! 🎬
