🎬 I had to make my wins on my own. Just like Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson having 2 careers after her Broadway debut in & 𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘵 this past weekend, you have to go for it.
Cue back to 2007…nobody was waiting for me in Hollywood upon my arrival after 2K+ miles along Route 66 from sunny Cleveland, Ohio. There wasn’t some neon marquee that said, “Welcome, Matt! We’ve been waiting, here are a bunch of movies and shows you can be in!” I had to learn how to be an actor while honing my craft (comedy). THEN came the work—landing an agent, grinding through hundreds (and hundreds and hundreds) of auditions—just to snag a part with 2 speaking lines.
But you know what? Waiting wouldn’t have landed me the chance to work with Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe, and Colin Firth. I had to move.
It’s the same for you. Whether it’s a job, a new career path, or a dream you’ve set aside, time won’t stand still—and neither should you.
You don’t have to “day play” in your career. You deserve the lead role.

I always tried to crack the hard nut that is the entertainment business and have found comfort in day playing these days. I get to hang with celebs and eat free crab! Who can ask for more?! I got cast in Outer Banks for season 3 but before that was Bad Mom’s Christmas. 4 years apart! That is the nature of the beast!
Buuuuut my point is, you can do whatever you put your mind to! Even if your mind only goes to it every 4 years LOL!
