The cover letter you wrote? Or do they see all of the other information out there about you, like your social media profiles and what people say about you online? The answer is probably some combination of all three.
𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗽: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 Create a list of 20 companies you admire. Consider companies that might not be having their doors knocked down by throngs of people looking for a job, and where it might be easier to find someone who will talk with you. Using LinkedIn tools, search for things you might have in common with those 20 companies, such as college alumni or contacts who work there.
