πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Kevin came to me as a Promotional Marketing Project Manager with Pacific Color, seeking a more creative-focused PM role.

The resolutions we provided were:

πŸ‘‰Β Finding a format that resonates with his new targeted role.

πŸ‘‰ Building up his transferable creative project management experience, skills, methodologies, KPIs, and wins.

πŸ‘‰Β Improved messaging so readers know what he was trying to do and what value he can offer.

πŸ‘‰Β More skills that are ATS compliant so he can stand out in a highly competitive industry and role.

πŸ‘‰Β Elevated experience section so he demonstrated more accomplishments, value offerings, and metrics over tasks.

πŸ‘‰Β The proper layout and format (in order) including a Summary, Key Skills/Technical Aptitude, Accomplishments, Experience, Education, Certification/Training, Affiliation, and Volunteerism.

πŸ’₯ Well, it worked!

πŸ’₯ Kevin sent me this message out of nowhere, which I just had to share! He landed the new role as Senior Creative Project Manager with Kotis Design! Way to go, Kevin! LFG!

“Man I remembered seeing this when you sent it and the part about momentum hit at the exact right time for me. Right around when you sent this I had a big 3 going with interviews in different stages. I ended up taking one of the offers last Friday and start this Monday. It’s real good. A badass merch company and awesome team. What’s crazy is going all those months hunting and feeling like shit or like I wasn’t qualified or whatever. But I was getting momentum and then saw it different. This company has literally showered me with their excitement and to land me and add me to the team. This is literally one of the top distributors in the game too. I do think heading into Q2 plays a factor right now for several industries. Merch for certain. I know how they navigate. My simplified outlook: Q1 is all about setting the strategy, try and sign that new program. Q2 load up and hire Q3 steady sailing Q4 Holiday time. Buckle the fuck up. Also we’re not hiring or onboarding at this time! In the Bourbon world, and maybe others, they call Q4 OND. For October November December. It gets wild in that business around that time too. Hope all is well with you and yours man! I wouldn’t be here without your help. In this job market it is almost unbelievable how many responses I was getting every week. The resume update was a major factor in getting through HR and recruiters. Great work as always! My interview skills are razor sharp right now. I feel like I could write a book on job hunting. Chapter 1: Get a resume guy!”
