πββοΈ Gianna came to me as an early career Teacherβs Assistant at UNCW and full-time bartender at a local gastropub and seeking a role focusing on her undergraduate degree program in the Mathematics and Statistics space.
The resolutions we provided were:
π Finding a format that resonates with her new targeted role.
π Building up her research, statistical and analysis, reporting, and data mining skills, methodologies, KPIs, and wins.
π Improved messaging so readers know what she was trying to do and what value she can offer.
π More skills that are ATS compliant so she can stand out in a highly competitive industry and role.
π Elevated experience section so she demonstrated more accomplishments, value offerings, and metrics over tasks.
π The proper layout and format (in order) including a Summary, Key Skills/Technical Aptitude, Accomplishments, Experience, Education, Certification/Training, Affiliation, and Volunteerism.
π₯ Well, it worked!
π₯ Gianna sent me this wonderful note out of nowhere about her new role, which I just had to share! She is now an Intern with Biostatistics! Way to go Gianna!
“Hey Matt, Sorry for such a late reply. I do have great news and did receive an internship for Biostatistics here in Wilmington. Thank you so much for helping me out with the resume and cover letter. It really did make a difference.”
