Companies Innovating During The COVID Crisis

Recruiting chatbots for Southwest Airlines and microsite temporary staffing support for MGM.

How these 2 firms evolved to fight against #COVID19 is true innovation within #talentacquisition.

✈️ Southwestern had to find a way to build its talent pipeline during its furlough.

They didn’t want to miss out on some great prospects who were seeking employment with the firm, regardless if an actual job was available or not.

So they built chatbots to handle inquiries. Boy did they handle it well. Almost 92,000 hours saved on mundane tasks!

🎰 MGM didn’t want to lose out on its talented workforce just because they had to conduct a temporary layoff as well.

Their solution?

Build a microsite for the recent “alumni” to help their former employees identify temporary work in the meantime so they’re still available once MGM was done with its reset.

This alumni network site tool provided information about jobs, application status, and ongoing communications.

I appreciate companies going the extra mile to not only protect their talent during downsizes, but also help move them forward, professionally, and financially.
