One of my clients just landed his dream job as a Creative Manager (with 2x the salary!).
He’d been unemployed since the #globalhealthcrisis began and came to me just before the holidays.
Here are 3 things he did that altered his game:
1. He visualized what he was passionate about and sought input from colleagues at his former employer.
This helps to understand what makes him tick.
What gets his juices flowing.
Quite frankly, what he likes.
2. He started networking and made it about THEM.
He cultivated genuine relationships by commenting on posts, sharing relevant articles and possible ideas or solutions relating to the article that may resonate with the hiring manager, and posted thought leadership content.
3. He asked for honest input as to the ways he could be a solid candidate for potential openings down the road.
He asked the hiring manager about why she was still working there, having been there for over 10 years.
He asked the hiring manager about the type of culture the company had in place.
He got her talking about herself and her company. People like doing that.
The moral of the story? When you are strategic, anything is possible!
Even a dream job with a 100% raise during a #globalpandemic.
