Youโ€™ve landed at the top โ€” President, VP, C-Suite, Director. But when it comes time to make a move, the same question always hits: โ€œDo I use a bio? Do I need a resume? What even goes in the summary?โ€

Hereโ€™s the truth from my convo on the Find Your Dream Job Podcast:

๐Ÿ’ก โ€œLess is more โ€” focus on the content.โ€ ATS systems choke on borders, graphics, and fancy layouts. Keep it clean.

๐Ÿ’ก โ€œResumes are scored and ranked based on alignment with the job description.โ€ Translation: even with a million-dollar track record, you still need to pitch yourself like a product.

๐Ÿ’ก โ€œRather than fearing the ATS, learn to benefit from it.โ€ A well-built executive resume isnโ€™t a history lesson โ€” itโ€™s your sales pitch to the boardroom.

Ah, the ATS mirage…

People say: โ€œIโ€™ll just upload my resume. Itโ€™ll get through.โ€
But when pressed on how ATS works, most jobseekers shrug.
The illusion is thinking you know what keywords to use. The reality? You donโ€™tโ€”until you have someone whoโ€™s mastered ATS writing.

The executive pain points I fix:
โŒ Resume vs. Bio โ†’ You need both. A sharp, marketing-driven bio + a tailored, sales-focused resume.

โŒ Executive Summary vs. Sales Pitch โ†’ Go sales pitch. Lead with measurable impact: revenue grown, teams scaled, markets entered.

โŒ Too Much Story โ†’ Execs often overwrite. What gets you hired? Signal, not noise. ROI > Responsibilities.

โŒ Invisible Keywords โ†’ Even leaders get filtered out if their resume doesnโ€™t speak ATS. At your level, missing one phrase can cost you visibility.

โŒ Overlooking Board/Investor Language โ†’ Executives sometimes write for recruiters only, but your audience might include boards, investors, or partners. Your resume needs to resonate upward as well as downward.

โŒ Generic Achievements โ†’ โ€œLed a teamโ€ isnโ€™t enough. Hiring committees want metrics: % growth, $ revenue impact, market share gains. Vague = invisible.

โŒ Outdated Positioning โ†’ Execs often recycle old resumes without updating strategy. What worked 10 years ago doesnโ€™t cut it today. You need a brand story that matches todayโ€™s market and tomorrowโ€™s opportunities.

๐ŸŽฏ My work is turning executive resumes into strategic sales documents that bypass the โ€œrobotsโ€ and impress decision-makers.
