Yup.

There are a million and one ways to find a suitor who will value your experience and skills. But like anything else, we’re all fighting for eyeballs. And now more than ever, since everyone has a “brand” online, it’s getting harder.

I preach to my clients, create your own opportunities over relying on availability and what’s available that day. Go seek out people. Open up discussions. Strike a chord.

Like anything in life, what you give is what you get. And that’s where your self-control and personal accountability shows up. Your stick-to-itiveness shows up. Your 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵 shows up.

That’s kinda sorta how my acting timeline has been since I got into it back in 2005. I only got into it because I wanted to be a comedy writer. But your career trajectory in your life has a funny way of doing its thing. Mine showed me the beauty of live and recorded performance, and I was fine letting my comedy writing ambitions melt away.

Work hard, work smart, be kind, have grit, and let the stuff out of your control be just that.
