It’s All Perspective, Baby!

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆!

“Look at that huge slide, daddy!”

“Wow buddy, that sure is big. Are you going to really climb all the way up to the top of that gigantic slide?”

“Yeah.”

To us, it’s a child’s playground slide. To him, it’s apart of the Grand Tetons.

Perspective.

And without a beat, this kid’s already halfway up the slide.

At 3 and a half, he’s fearless.

He’s not worried about the below surface.

He’s not worried about his slippery shoes.

He’s not worried about some possible plumber crack in a public playground.

He’s only worried about making it, regardless of the obstacles (or lack thereof in his mind).

Perspective.

I learn a lot from Gus, my son.

He teaches me to sometimes not think of the little details.

He teaches me to sometimes not think of what’s in the way of getting started.

He teaches me to sometimes not think of what’s in the way of finishing.

And just like that, my boy was at the top of the slide, looking down. Proud. He accomplished what he set out to do.

“I did it, daddy!”

“You sure did, buddy.”

I knew he would because he knew he would.

I learn a lot as a 40-something from a 3T and I couldn’t be any more proud of that. Love you baby Gus.
