Season’s Slowings, Candidates! But wait! You should continue outreach efforts and online submissions even during the slow hiring period that can occur during the holiday season!

During slowdowns that can occur during economic declines or general seasonal gaps, it’s always a good idea for recruiters to stay busy stacking their pipelines with candidates for January vetting.

While hiring teams may take a “Holiday Recruitment Rest” and put a “Ho-Ho-Hold on Hiring”, that doesn’t mean for them to necessarily take a break either and enter into the “Holiday Hiring Hibernation” period.

Recruiters tend to focus their efforts on continuing to source and recruit candidates, not open requisitions.

Continue the process of vetting and reference checking so they can add them to the applicant tracking system pipeline.

That way, once hiring ramps back up, they’ll have some packaged candidates to present to the hiring managers. They love to keep stacking that pipeline!

So get that resume refreshed and keep pounding the pavement and beat this “Jolly Job Freeze”!
