Check out our President, Matt Warzel, on The Resume Story Podcast with Virginia Franco
🚀 I had the awesome opportunity to speak with Virginia Franco on her weekly The Resume Story Podcast last month!
From her post:
A self-described victim of circumstance, Matt Warzel, CPRW, CIR got to see behind the hiring curtain through earlier roles in HR, staffing and recruiting. He has used these insights to support job seekers since 2009 as a resume writer, interview and career change coach.
I appreciated the chance to talk a bit of shop with him as my guest on this week’s Resume Storyteller Podcast.

With a few exceptions (targeting opportunities with Mom & Pop shops or early-stage startups) where you’re expected to wear many hats, being a jack or jill-of-all-trades isn’t something to lean into in your resume and LinkedIn profile.
Hiring managers looking to fill a niche often don’t approach search with a wide focus. The greater the niche, the greater the opportunity.

It’s important to know where your communities live. This means making sure you’re not ruling out niche job boards (i.e., HRRemoteJobs.com) and networking platforms (a la Fishbowl).

If you want to be found and have people reach out to you on LinkedIn — don’t make it tough. Include an email in the contact section and also ideally in your About section.
