🙌 I was honored by a colleague, Bob McIntosh, for inclusion in his article about having metrics on your resume/LinkedIn profile? 65% of voters say YES
Metrics in the form of numbers, percentages, and dollars give your resume’s or LinkedIn profile’s accomplish statements power and separate you from the fold. They cause readers to take note. They complete the story. They show proof.
My take?
Yes, all resumes should have some focus on KPIs and bottom-line accomplishments. If you have sales, metrics, etc. use them! If not (or they have to remain confidential), turn your sentences in accomplishments still focused on operational impact, but without the figures. Streamlined efficiency, drove revenue gains, reduced waste, optimized workflow, saved money, etc…
I think some of these factors contribute to adding those KPIs:
🔥 It shows you’re thinking role relevance
🔥 It shows you’re thinking operationally
🔥 It shows you’re thinking bottom-line
🔥 It shows you’re a professional
