⚾ This weekend was my son’s first-ever baseball-playing experience. His rookie season is in full swing (pun intended).
His tee-ball team consists of 8 little (and absolutely cute) shrimpers that are totally clueless as to what’s going on yet. All of them are barely 4.
And instead of chaos as one would expect it to go…it was an absolutely wonderful and stress-free experience.
Who woulda’ thought?! No stress at a toddler event?!
I guess it’s the fact that I went in with a passion and excitement to see Gus at his first practice, cracking balls and fielding grounders. It was amazing.
And instead of giving in to the lack of direction following, lack of playing in some plays, and his yearning to roll around on the pitcher’s mound, I chose to smile, root, and help all the runts as best as a dad could.
I chose to not let the chaos dictate my experience.
That’s the sort of decision that employees and job seekers face each day. Do you give in to the chaos? The toxicity? The poor management?
All sorts of variables are at play.
But the one variable you can control?
Your outlook.
Your experience.
Your destiny.
You.
Summertime is here. I can’t wait for game 2 next weekend. Also, had to sport my favorite character in my favorite comedy, #MajorLeague. Good ‘ole reliever, Harris.
