When I write my accomplishment and experience section sentences, it’s all about what key narratives and wins you can provide that best resonate with the recruiter and hiring managers.
I use a 3-pronged approach to identifying the best value offerings as content that match your messaging and targeting role.
Think:
1. Is it relatable to the opening? Can you find those items that resonate best with the decision-makers? Think transferable skills and achievements. Show them that not only can you handle their open requisition’s duties, but you’ve done them and you’re showing them proof in an action-result format.
2. Can you provide bottom-line impacts? Show them metrics and KPIs that better position your candidacy as someone who can think operationally. Remember, you’re either making them money or costing them money. Be the former.
3. What unique stories can you convey? Did you win an award? Did you get featured in the news? Did you give a speech at an industry conference? Think of those neat little anecdotes that make you, you.
What else can you think of? Struggling to get the right resume put together? Let’s connect, see if I can help!
Happy Monday, have a fantastic week ahead!
