📙 That time I landed my first bookshelf home for my book, “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘜𝘯𝘜𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘥: 𝘈𝘯 𝘈-𝘵𝘰-𝘡 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦: 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘫𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳.”
𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁: I was working tirelessly to get my first book published. After all, you have to gain clout in any industry, and what better way than to pump out a couple, few books? This first one, pictured, was a 3-year journey to find this moment. Self-publishing, while not as hard as actually hunting down literary agents, still has its challenges (artwork, dimensions, proofreading, marketing, reviews, etc). But I was so proud of this moment! The best part? My friend, Gwenyfar, let me put out 10 copies at her amazing indie bookstore, Old Books on Front Street, and allowed me to host a reading! The worst part? No one showed up! Absolutely zero. LOL. I even promoted the heck out of it. My best friend, Dan, was there because he drove me, so we headed to the bar next door. #neverstopfighting
📙 I’ve since published a 2nd book in the How to Get UnUnEmployed series (and one I’m also much more proud of TBH), “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘜𝘯𝘜𝘯𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘥: 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳!: 22 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱-𝘉𝘺-𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 𝘞𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘒𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘑𝘰𝘣 𝘪𝘯 𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 6 𝘞𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴 (𝘈𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦).”
