What are some good management skills and the traits today’s employees want in their leaders?
A large wave of individuals are finding that managers who appreciate the work-life balance make for a better employee. They will want to work for a manager who appreciates them, and sees value in having to tend to personal issues from time to time without worrying about walking on eggshells all day. They want to work for a manager who thinks that they have a life outside of the building.
With mental health issues finally coming to light after years of workplace concealment, managers are finding that support over dictatorship works best. That being a servant and pragmatic leader with an understanding and a heart can lead to a more productive workforce. People will want to work for a manager that has a blend of expecting hard work and optimal performance delivery from her employees, but also is a realist that also has a life outside the work place, and will leverage that empathy in her day-to-day leadership methodology.
