⛰️Work gaps on a resume can make employers and recruiters concerned, which can affect the chances of a job application being short-listed.
🎨There is a mix of reasons why a job seeker is not working at the time of the application, and as a former recruiter, I liked to know that reason or situation.
🤔Recruiters or hiring managers will want to know the reasoning behind why the job seeker is out of work at the time of application.
🔮Many reasons are valid and they do not mind readers, so consider sharing the reason for your current situation upfront.
❌This will help the recruiter or hiring manager to not assume something like “terminated for poor performance”.
🙋When leaving jobs, always ask for permission to take a reference inquiry or previous performance reviews for a potential future employer.
